This cover was created specifically for adult oriented BDSM conventions. The models for the original photo were Mistress Wendi O'Brien and a volunteer who asked to be identified only as "Bob".
Obviously, in this case, the photo was then rendered, posterized, composited, and retouched with some of the gorier aspects of Miranda's activities.

Chapter Sampler... What's that?
Marketing is how books are sold. Getting the word out to readers is part of that game. One of the easiest ways to do this is the "Chapter Sampler". A booklet containing sample chapters from a novel, or series of novels, that is given away at conventions.
Since the Miranda Trilogy crosses genres and contains elements that are of interest to everyone from mystery readers, horror readers, modern day pagans, to those involved in the BDSM sub-culture, various covers for chapter samplers were created to appeal to the differing readerships and be distributed to those target markets.
