Pictured here is the poster for not only The End Of Desire, the third book in the Miranda saga, but the entire trilogy as well. This poster marked the beginning of the "EVIL WALKS ON HIGH HEELS" marketing push, largely because of the heinous death by spike heel suffered by one of the victims in the third installment.
Wendi O'Brien is again the model for the ghostly face in the background, as well as the legs in the foreground.
The photo was taken against a neutral backdrop then composited against a gradient and retouched to make the blood spatter stand out against the shading. The hand, that of the author himself, was shot during a seperate session and added as a secondary element. Two versions of the poster were created - one with the hand, one without.
Finally it was tagged with teaser text. These 11 X 17 posters were supplied to bookstores across the country.
