This cover was created specifically for Horror and Dark Fantasy conventions. The models for the original photo were Mistress Wendi O'Brien and the author himself, M. R. Sellars.
The two photos were taken independently, composited, and retouched with the gore one would expect from the horrific end of being brutally trampled to death by a sadistic woman in high heels.

Chapter Sampler... What's that?
Marketing is how books are sold. Getting the word out to readers is part of that game. One of the easiest ways to do this is the "Chapter Sampler". A booklet containing sample chapters from a novel, or series of novels, that is given away at conventions.
Since the Miranda Trilogy crosses genres and contains elements that are of interest to everyone from mystery readers, horror readers, modern day pagans, to those involved in the BDSM sub-culture, various covers for chapter samplers were created to appeal to the differing readerships and be distributed to those target markets.
