Pictured here is the first in a series of three pre-release posters for Love Is The Bond, the first book in the Miranda Trilogy. Wendi O'Brien posed for this on a whim. It was an idea that came about while brainstorming during the photo shoot for the cover.
Ms. O'Brien made a quick wardrobe change, and was shot posing against a neutral backdrop. Several poses were done, however, the ones that most appealed were those containing an old plaster skull prop jokingly named "Mister Crane".
The photo was then composited against a gradient background with the veve for Papa Legba, since Voodoo and Hoodoo play a large role in the storyline. Teaser text was then added. These 11 X 17 posters were supplied to bookstores across the country.
On a side note, a full set of the three posters were autographed by both Ms. O'Brien and Mr. Sellars. They were then donated to an online auction where the proceeds went to benefit the New Orleans victims of Katrina. This particular signed poster fetched over $100.00 for the cause.
